and unprejudiced opinion, that whatever
be the result of the War in which
we are engaged with the Chinese Government,

positions, this Settlement has already
advanced too far to admit
even of
its being
restored to the Authority
of the Emperor, consistently
with the
Honor and Advantage of Her Majesty's Crown and Subjects.
